    Hello all.
    I hope someone can help me out with my errant dryer. The dryer was working fine until one fateful day when the belt snapped. At this point the heater was still working but the drum was not turning as is expected. After I changed the belt, the dryer turns on without any issue but when I try to start the dryer, it doesn’t do anything no heat and the drum doesn’t turn. There is one clicking sound when I press on as if the door is locking. I honestly can’t remember if that one click used to happen when the dryer was fine.

    Any advice from you guys will be much appreciated.

    since it only stopped after the belt was fitted i assume something is not back where it should be

    Thanks Dave. Could it be a damaged wire during the belt change?

    anything you moved needs checking

    assume the door closes ok as there is a solenoid in the door lock that goes click when you push start in a lot of hotpoint dryers

    and if its not closed properly it wont start

    Thanks Dave. I hear a click but who knows if the door is the culprit here. Thanks for your help. It’s much appreciated
