Hi,
it stopped spinning except when started by hand – however I have changed the capacitor (12uF) last night – tested before and I have the same symptoms. Loud buzzing until a little touch on the drum and it starts
stuck now 🙁
have you changed the correct cap
there will be 2 caps in yours as far as i can see
one for the drum motor and another for the fridge compressorDave
I changed the one that came up in searches according to its value – it screwed into the chassis – it did throw me when I saw one on the motor but thought that was the run capacitor. I did d take a photo but it is too big to upload. So looked like I will have to order the other one.
question – could I use the one I took off as an interim as my wife doesn’t want a tumble dryer in the kitchen in bits
thought you had the wrong cap when i saw the value as the motor is often between 7 and 10
so 12 is very high
you cant put a bigger one in or you may damage the motorDave
