Any thoughts on whether the Auto Dose (detergent) feature on certtain Samsung models i works well? I assume it measures the weight of the washing and dispenses the correct amount of detergent to suit the load?

At the moment I am considering either:

    • Samsung Series 6 WW80T684DLH – 8Kg, 1400spin, with Auto Dose, £600
    • EBac AWM8D2-WH – 8kg, 1600spin, £500

i would stay away from any machine with auto dosing. not needed and adds something that can clog and go faulty

Spot on! Seconded. Keep well away from auto dosing models Miele, Samsung or otherwise. A complication you do not need and never needed; pure gimmick to shift products based on The Green new agenda but that, in this context as in so many others, is all nonsense.

Not sure how the machine can dose for the soil level of the clothes tbh, I suppose one advantage is it stops overdosing which many do in the mistaken belief it’ll clean better. I like LG machines as they filter the powder before it enters the drum, so its fully dissolved. and the way they rinse gets much more of the detergent out of the clothing. Which is my one of my requirements in any machine. Oh, the other thing is LG uses the inverter motor to directly drive the drum unlike the majority of other brands with still use a belt between the two. More reliable if no belt to snap, slip, stretch.
