ParticipantHi there, something seems to be up with the dryer function on our Lavamat Turbo.
When we put it on to dry, you can hear what I guess is the evaporator/condenser pump start spinning with a high pitched whistle. In normal function this stays steady throughout the cycle, except for towards the end of a “cupboard dry” cycle where the items have finished drying but the cycle is continuing, where it seems to get a bit louder. Over the past couple of cycles it’s been getting quite loud throughout, and the pitch of the whistle has occasionally seemed to slow down and then speed back up to normal. The other odd thing I’ve noticed is that when it’s doing this the door lock light goes from red to green.
Wash cycles seem to be fine.
Can someone, please, confirm what would be wrong here? Many thanks

Moderatorwith that machine fault codes are displayed by the red and green light flashing
is there a sequence to it like 3 red 2 green ?

ParticipantI would say there wasn’t – it seemed pretty random and once the pitch of the motor went back to normal the light went back to red and stayed red.
I’ll go and watch it next time we turn it on though….

Moderatordepends on level of use the motor and fan units can get gummed up with lint. this can cause all sorts of weird noises

Participantah ok – so a week ago it flagged up an E22 (I think) error which I determined to be that the long tank up the side had got clogged – my wife washed a new angora jumper that shedded half its weight in wool and fluff in the machine. I wonder if this is linked? Although, to be fair, this is about 12 years old now, so could be general wear and tear.
Would removing the motor and fan at the top in the evaporator/condenser and giving them a good spray of contact clear be worth a go?November 1, 2021 at 9:47 pm #479708electrofix
Moderatoryes remove motor and check fan
if you post full model and pnc can check the fault code
