Hi all, hopefully you can help.

I have the dryer mentioned in the title, which makes a terrific squeaking sound every time the drum rotates and has done since the day I bought it last year.

I’d ignored it up until now because the weather had been dry enough to dry clothes outside, but now we’re well and truly in wet and cold winter we need to use the dryer.

I think I’ve sourced the issue, and it appears to be the left-hand (as you look at it) drum roller.

The roller seems to move on its bolt and rub against a piece of plastic in front of it causing the squeaking noise.

I’m sure of this because when I manually move the roller closer to the drum and away from the plastic the noise stops and it can run for a while without any noise but it clearly eventually wobbles itself back into contact with the plastic.

It seems as though a washer or something is missing which is allowing this contact with the plastic.

Does it sound feasible that it’s just a missing washer? Is it easily fixed? Would I have to take the drum off completely?

    Cheers!
