Having been a Neff user for many years, the last one whilst it performed well in many regards, suffered from a well reported error, E0532, something to do with panel getting hot due to design flaw. It only happened when cooking over a longer period, but is unacceptable really. I can see how it could have happened as the multiply glass front really did keep the heat in very well was cool to touch when oven was at 275 deg cel inside. The previous Neff lasted for 20 years and was still working when we got gid for the new one.
I am wanting a German made one if possible, definitely not chinese in any shape or form.
So Single oven, with grill, cool touch doors, pyrolytic lining. Looked at Gaggenau, probably a bit more than i want to spend, but want real quality not perceived quality. i.e. don’t want a Neff if its the same as a bosch made in turkey kinda thing.

The only German made ovens I know of are Miele. However I cannot say that all are as barcodes are usually nowadays registered to the head office address and not the factory of production.

Gaggenau is part of the same group as Bosch and Siemens just with more bells and whistles and usually only found in the top London stores and premium retailers.

I had no idea things have got to that stage. I remember selling the likes of Bosch in the old days, a good company with good ethics. I am a bit shocked TBH. Oh well, it is what it is. So it doesn’t really matter which brand then. As long as it has features I want. Makes it simple I suppose.
