    Hi All,
Our 2013 Ultima top oven is failing to get up to temperature when cooking. Testing with a temperature probe and the oven set to ‘6’ it only reaches 160 degrees after 40 minutes cooking. It should be in the region of 200 degrees.
We carried out the same test on the bottom oven which reached 200+ degrees in under 5 minutes.
There is obviously something wrong with either the thermostat or a faulty flame failure device. Any suggestions on how to fault find this problem further?
The top oven grill part seems to work correctly…

    Many thanks
    Paul

the top oven does not have a flame failure device but relies on a thermocouple to switch off the gas if the flame goes out.
the fault is most likely your thermostat and that means you need to call a gas safe engineer to do the repair and carry out the necessary safety inspection of your complete gas system when finished

    Hi Dave,
Many thanks for your reply. I can now see how much this is going to cost to get repaired or even if its worth fixing. I think a call to Hotpoint may be the first move and see what they have to say.

    Cheers

Ransomes seem to have stock at £50 and I have seen it offered elsewhere for £153. I have to say at that point I nearly gave up searching….
    Cheers again for your help
