Hi I have a Hotpoint HFC 2B19 UK. Which ever wash cycle I put the machine on it starts the cycle and starts to fill. The cycle light starts flashing and there are 3 beeps these are repeated a few times then stop. the machine then empties, refills, programme light flashes and beeps 3 times again, empties and then beeps to indicate it has finished.

short video of machine running

I haven’t found anyone else that seems to have this problem. Is there anyone that can help diagnose what the problem is and how to fix it.

Apologies for the slow reply. No other lights flash, which ever programme you set the same thing happens.

well its a bit of a long shot as its does not seem to be acting like its a fault code

if it is a fault code its fault one. anti flood device. check the base for water

what is more likely is the computer board is crashing and resetting as the default start programme is eco. but dont know why it would flash and beep

It is a bit of an odd fault and it may be the board. If it is the board they are supplied blank and need to be programmed which needs special equipment

Jester182 did you get it sorted? I’ve had the same problem with a brand new dishwasher. It was installed today, the fitter ran the rapid wash and it seemed fine but I’ve since tried every possible programme, but it just fills, starts beeping then empties.

Thanks. I’m going to call tomorrow. I’m so annoyed though. I paid a fortune for installation and I know AO will immediately fob me off to Hotpoint. Was hoping it would be something really simple.

not a great lover of hotpoint, its no where near what it once was

Anyway you only get 1 year warranty with Hotpoint but you get 2 with Beko

its a no brainer. they obviously have more faith in their product than Hotpoint to give the extra warranty

Parents have the same dishwasher with the same issue. Did you find a fix?

Hi All,

I’ve had this issue for the past week, after the dishwasher was working initially. My issue was the same, where the dishwasher would attempt to fill with water, and then would flash the programme light and beep 3 times, same as the video the original poster linked (https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Y-2…YDXPKqZie/view).

What worked for me, was checking the water inlet pipe that was installed by the plumber. Upon further inspection and pulling out the machine, the water inlet pipe was slightly bent/kinked and I assume, the reason behind why the dishwasher was failing to fill. I assume, there’s a timeout (the flashing of the lights), if the machine doesn’t receive enough water within a certain period of time.

Anyway, I’ve fixed the issue with the bent/kinked pipe so it’s all free, and moved the dishwasher back into place, with no issues, and the programmes starting first time. The filling of water is also alot louder as it’s now receiving the correct amount.

I made this account to comment, and I hope this helps someone. Please check your water inlet pipes first, before thinking your machine is broken.

Cheers,
Ryan
