    Hi all,
My elderly neighbour asked me to have a look at their dryer as they said that it was not starting, its a Hoover DX C10TG-80 10kg smart touch tumble dryer.

I had a look and confirmed that on any of the settings when the start button is pressed the machine beeps but the drum doesn’t turn.
I took the lid off to see if I could hear the motor hum but there was nothing, even if I durned the drum by hand it wouldn’t start.

After a quick google and downloading the hoover app I ran the diagnostics which all came back good, in doing the test the drum turned – this made me think that the motor etc was all good. I decided to try one of the programs from the one touch app and hey presto the machine works!

Has anyone come across this in the past and if there is any fixes other than maybe a new front pcb?

    Many thanks, Steve

Thanks very much Dave, child lock will be my 1st point to check. I dont remember seeing a label on the module but guess that could have fallen off and be floating at the bottom of the machine somewhere?

found the label Dave, MSW 40011821, USW 40011822 and EEP CODE 40011380. so doesnt look as though its within the range 🙁 Doesnt appear that the child lock is on….I suspect this will be a PCB replacement gremlin for sure
