    Hi all.

I have a brandt apollo fridge/freezer, the problem started when i got some ice build up behind the drawers, my wife cleared this away with a knife, now i dont know if she did any damage to anything, but since then the freezer has stopped working all together.

I looked at the back of the freezer and the numbers on the black thing (forgive me) are HTK 7AA and R600a electrolux, the black thing is warm to the touch and the freezer lights are still on, the fridge is still working perfectly, any advice would be appreciated, is it knackered or if not will the repair bill be expensive? or better still can i possibly do it myself?

    Thanks 🙂

I think the black thing your talking about is the compressor and yes this does get hot usually when some one removes ice with a knife they put a hole in the evaporator depends if it is a bonded one its not repairable if you can replace it but will cost loads.
