Whilst trying to replace the handle on my Vax 4000 (2300) I wrote down the colour of the wires to the speed controller knob. However I
lost it – I should have taken a photo. Does anyone know which way round the wires go please? There is a white wire and a black wire – the tabs on the pcb are labelled W and N.

are the terminals the same size ?

at a guess i would say black to N ( what i am hoping is N stands for neutral so you could do a continuity test to try this )

    Thanks for your reply.
Yes the terminals are the same size.
The black wire does conduct to the neutral on the plug so must be neutral.
The white wire connects to the pump switch button.

In case anyone else needs to know this – Electrofix is correct N is neutral (black wire) – and maybe its a M for motor (white wire) – anyway it works fine.

I did get confused I thought I had wired the push buttons up wrong – however the version of handle I got has the pump and the power switch logos the other war round. (2301 version).
