So I had some electrical work done recently, and the power was cut for under an hour. I made sure the power was cut whilst the compressor wasn’t running. Now my fridge freezer won’t run. When applying power, there’s a pause of a few seconds, then the compressor runs for a few seconds, then cuts out again. This is normal behaviour, it’s what it used to de beforehand when power was cut / re-applied. However it won’t now run after the brief run of a few seconds. I’ve left it a few hours now, and it’s definitely not running, and the compartments are warming up. I’ve increased the temperature control to max, but that’s made no difference. Is there some kind of reset that needs to be performed, or could there be another reason it’s no longer working properly?

    Thanks!

OK – All sorted. After a few hours – nothing, dead. I read somewhere about powering it down for an hour to reset it, so I did this. On power up, the usual few seconds of the compressor running, then a pause of around 10 minutes, and it’s now running properly 🙂
So if anyone gets a similar issue, I suggest powering it down for an hour and trying again!
