    Hi all.

The above integrated fridge freezer has started misbehaving.

The fridge is not cold, other than a small patch of rear wall at the top of the fridge which is slightly cooler to the touch.

The fan is working fine (although I think it is running all the time) and the evaporator within the freezer compartment is completely ice free.

The fridge temperature control potentiometer steps from ~500 ohms to 50k over the full range of the control knob. I assume this is working OK.

The condenser is hot, but not so hot you cannot keep a hand on it.

As I understand it, there is a fridge air temperature sensor which is buried within the foam on the rear of the fridge. Disconnected from KN3 on the control PCB, there is ~18k ohms between the orange and grey wires of this sensor.

I’ve not been able to discover much about this sensor, other than it’s a bit of a job to dig out and replace.

Is ~18k ohms normal for this sensor where there is an internal temperature of, I’d guess, about 10 degrees ?

Thanks for any help / suggestions anyone can provide 🙂

the sensors job is to turn the compressor on when things get warm. the compressors job is to bring the temp down

we have to figure out what is going wrong

My guess is the compressor never stops running and in which case its a refrigeration problem

    if so its scrap

Thanks for your thoughts, Dave – much appreciated.

The compressor was red hot this morning so I’ve decided not to risk it – a new appliance has been ordered.
