    Hi,

Hoping someone can kindly advise, or share their experiences please.

I have a Hotpoint WDL520 Aquarius washer/dryer. The last couple of days, every 30-90 seconds, and irrespective of cycle, the machine just stops. It doesn’t click off or pause the cycle, but simply stops/dies – almost like its been switched off at the wall. Has anybody had this issue before?

It is still turned on at the wall. It’s connected to a washing machine switch/control switch at the wall. I know it’s still on because the LED on the switch is lit up still – and it hasn’t been tripped at the mains either.

I then need to turn if off at the wall, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on – where it proceeds to continue whatever it was doing, until it “dies again” shortly after.

Can anyone help point me in the right direction as to why it does this please?

I would say its a board fault

i would check the board for blown capacitors

    Thanks Dave, appreciate your advice.

I shall investigate and attempt that. I will look up some guides.

I’ve zero skill/knowledge in anything technical like this – is it straight-forward, or would you recommend I can all an expert in?

    Thanks again!

well if you get at the board and have a look

    caps often dome when faulty

if you have that problem even if you cant sort it you can then find someone who has the skill to swop them. not all engineers will swop board components
