The oven when connected to power will light up the UI panel for about 1 second (with a clicking sound when turning on), and then it goes off for about 1 second (with the same clicking sound). It does this indefinitely in a loop.

Prior to this behavior the oven already occasionally will have flickering on the clock display on the UI panel. Pressing a button tends to fix it and resets the clock back to 12:00.

I have also removed the oven from the cabinetry and plugged it into different sockets, with same results. A visual inspection after taking the top cover off and cover above the power cord connection into the unit did not reveal obvious damage or abnormalities.

Am I correct in diagnosing the unit has a faulty UI control panel and board? This is the spare part on AEG https://shop.aeg.co.uk/c/user-interface-board-set/p/140194181255

    look about right

    you can

1 look for bulging capacitors on the board

    2 replace it

3 or bridge the clock so it wont affect the oven

The spare part for a new user interface board has arrived and was indeed this that was stopping the oven from turning on properly. Now however, the oven light doesn’t turn on, and I suspect I may have reconnected a wire on the selector board wrong. Is there anywhere to find the wiring manual?

    Hello,

It’s BEK351010M, PNR 94418790900. Unhelpfully aeg.co.uk chat support simply disconnected me when I asked for it

Not immensely but maybe to the right person!

Thankfully the wiring was okay – I thought I connected the wiring wrong to cause the oven light not to turn on, turns out the halogen light’s filament broke. Definitely a good idea to take a photo before unplugging wires!

    Thanks for your help Dave!

its so easy these days with digital cameras

years ago had to make lots of notes and change carefully one wire at a time. Changing a timer on a washing machine was real fun with up to 30 wires that all had to be correct and no diagrams to fall back on
