Indesit IDC85 repair and safety recall

As a favour to a friend, I spent a long time cleaning out the condenser on an Indesit IDC85. It had NEVER been done.
The pump was noisy so I replaced it.
The float had shrunk to the size of a small biscuit about 3 mm thick so I replaced it.
After lots of cleaning, it looked good and worked fine. RESULT.

Having scanned these forums I became aware of the safety recall, so registered the dryer with Indesit/Whirlpool.
Expecting a call to do some work on it I chased them up and they are now replacing it with a new one.

Wasted effort on my part, but good result in the end, and kudos to these forums.
