I was in the kitchen yesterday during the spin cycle of my trusty Bosch Maxx 6 washing machine when I heard a sudden noise and immediate loud rubbing / vibration noise from the machine.
It still runs but on faster spin cycle a terrible vibration is present.
I cannot feel any undue play in the drum bearings, the upper weights are not loose. Any ideas as to what could be the most likely culprit?

    Identifying codes below

    Kind regards

    look for drum run out

there is a 3 legged spider that carries the load. if one leg breaks the drum goes out of true that gets worse with heavy loads and hogh speed

the inner drum then hits the outer one and contacts the rubber round the door

    Thank you Dave.
    I appreciate your swift response.
I assume a full strip down is done by removing the top and then front of the machine?
    Much appreciated

yes the drum unit has to come out but the parts prices if thats whst has failed makes it hard to justify for a machine that was built sept 2011

Use the video below to help see if your spider has gone. Be a little bit firmer with the drum than as if you were checking the bearings.
