    Hi All
I’m new to the site and have looked through the threads, with no luck.

I’ve got an issue with my zanussi zqf11430da freeze, hopefully you guys can help. basically it freezes up fine but eventually the alarm activates for high/low temperature, the freezer itself still feels very cold but I have noticed that the compressor seems to be twice as noisy before It alarms, it then doesn’t come back on, I’ve checked out all the components but the one bit i’m unsure on the the wiring from the PCB. one wire goes to the starter device and overload protection and the second 2 core goes under the bottom plate, I’m assuming it’s a thermostat but i can’t get the under tray off to see, also on a website for parts, I can see all the parts on the freezer but nothing for a thermostat, sorry I can’t get the photo to upload, the part number on google is 2425128119 if you look at the bottom edge of the board, it’s the one on the left.

    Many Thanks Allan

the thermostat is an electronic device called a thermistor that is buried in the insulation during manfacture. it changes resistance with temperature. the board measures this and switches the compressor on and off if needed

the basic wiring diagram shows a connector J2 which leads to this component. disconnect it and measure both the temp of the inside of the fridge and its resistance

the table below will give you the reading your expecting
