Hi I’m Gav from Bonnyrigg Scotland looking for some advice please?
We’ve a Bosch KIN32A41GB for 14 years troublefree but come the weekend woke to hear an alarm going off, turns out the feeezer has failed.
Things I’ve checked is compressor seems to be working can hear it, feel it and the outlet gets hot as it’s compressing the gas.
Checked pcb for dry joints/connector problems, same with psu board.
Vacuumed the back but wasn’t too bad.
when switch it off and back on the alarm sounds as freezer is way above -18 , but if I remove the cover at back to remove the condenser and feel the pipes I can feel they get cold/sometimes very cold then nothing the compressor is still running. 🙁
If I hold my hand on NTC sensor I can see the temp the fridge thinks the freezer is at goes up so sounds ok, there’s two other sensors in there though, one looks like another NTC stuffed into the condenser, whilst the other is cable tied to the return and has a connector on it, I’ve measured the resistance and it’s 0 ohms. Tried unplugging it and ran the fridge , made no difference 🙁
I’ve ordered both NTC’s in the hope it’s one of them.
    Any advice appreciated.
    Thanks for reading!

Edit has slowly been defrosting over the weekend with my testing etc I had the fan out (it’s part of the cover that conceals the condenser) but thought I’d put it back in , surprised to see the condenser has thin layer of ice on it so seems to be trying…
    Have verified the fan works

its got to be a compressor failure or a refrigeration fault like a blockage.

its a professional job only and wont be cheap

Thanks Dave why do you say that?
interestingly, i popped a thermometer in there this afternoon and could see it was down to -6 but then slowly crept up to near zero, does that mean anything to anyone?

in a fridge freezer you have a thermostat and a compressor. the thermostats job is to detect when to turn on or off the compressor. The compressor then runs compressing the gas to a liquid so it can boil off in the freezer taking the heat with it. Once the compressor is running the thermostat wont work again till it gets cold enough. what your saying is the compressor just runs but it does not freeze. therfore the compressor or gas circuit is at fault

I cant even fix my own and i fix appliances for a living so its not a diy job

Yeah I get that but what if thermostat(s) are fault telling the compressor it’s cold enough, when it’s not?

Also I not entirely sure how the fridge works unless it’s got a mini condenser I can’t see any forced air option from the fridge, but it’s working ok.

Do you know I’m not sure it’s that quiet! I’d like to say yes but will need to be more thorough

if it keeps running it cant be a control problem

    Yeah I think it’s constantly running 🙁
did see a bit of green corrosion on one of the pipes that has me wondering if there’s a leak it’s R600A

Well now I’ve ordered a new FF, I put the Bosch back into its hole, it’s integrated , and have been checking it regularly, last check it was -18! Since checked and now -5?
