Grundig heat pump dryer GTN38267GCW

well prior to me stripping it down , i ran the dryer and you could im pretty sure hear the compressor kicking in, now at that stage whether it was getting warm i dont know, as i ran it without wet/damp clothes in ill have to grrrr lol put the dryer back together and do as you suggest, what your saying is, it should get warm yes? any thoughts on that fan , or is that secondary in terms of a replacement/repair cost and immaterial to the actual dryer working?

Dave , no gotcha on that i know its a scrap job if refridgeration stuffed, so as im just vbeginningbto reassemble, , when i had it running before , i removed the filter and it was blowing cool/cold air at me ,with no wet clothes in it , that a good sign?, now wheres my screwdriver ah sunday evening what the feck am i doing…!

So after removing about 4{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the skin off my hands trying to reasemble the ***** im now calling it, with wet clothes the compressor does get , im not saying to hot to touch , nor luke warm , but hot id say, the fan hasnt kicked in sofarm an hour last night and running it again now, as for drying the clothes, yessss but not as perhaps god as id expect a heatpump dryer to do, , , so would u think as the compressors hot, the heatpump part of the dryers working ok , as expected? im reasonably sure the water pumps doing its job but now 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} on that

Thanks, I know i should understand what you wrote, but im struggling a bit to follow it , to a simpleton like myself, the dryer is working , i mean its drying the clothes.. ok so it getting warm means is the MOTORS working but surely the fact its dried the clothes means, there must be enough refrigerant to make that happen yes? only bit that im really struggling to follow is your last cpl lines, , ok so if its drying the eits extracting the moisture and returning it to water yes?

Well as I said , it was given to because the owners of it , said it no longer heated up , now as they’ve an identical dryer bought at the same time i was inclined to believe them, as i mentioned just removing one side revealed fluff that COMPLETELY covered the motor and compressor, as well as being Everywhere else inside the dryer, now all i’ve done is checked continuity and cleaned, and apparently its working fine, why now , who knows loose wire, too much fluff, overheating,, NO i was aware that heatpumps don’t chuck out as much heat as conventional dryers, but this one wasn’t throwing out ANY heat.., anyway ill run it for a few days see how we go.

Ah good, but there’s a reason your the experts and im not, i did mention that i thought the water pump isn’t pumping, if that makes ANY sense, , took out the filter front bottom left, and bout half a cupfull of water came out , so while i said it does er seem to be drying the clothes, either the pump/pipe/float ain’t workin , Or its not as apparently fixed as I thought it was Grrrrr any thoughts?

Thanks Dave should i test both the pump and the lift up sensor thingy for continuity
