    The fridge part of my Scandinova FF6745D Fridge/Freezer has stopped working. The freezer is working just fine. The unit has gone from being very noisy to quite noisy so I am guessing that the motor/pump/compressor which supplies the fridge is broken. I have tried turning off the unit for >1 hour as suggested in the manual but this hasn’t helped. Any thoughts on what has gone wrong and how much it is likely to cost to put it right.

    P.S. If it is of any relevance – the freezer accumulated quite a lot of ice recently which is unusual in the 7 years that I have had the unit.

    Sounds like a poor pumping compressor they tend to get very noisy when they go wrong

    I think I made it sound more confusing than it actually is. The unit had always been noisy (for 6+ years) and it became quieter at exactly the same time as the fridge stopping working.
