ParticipantHi all.
Our Leibherr fridge freezer has developed a problem. It’s around 4 to 5 years old. The lower freezer section is fine, it maintains -18deg. The fridge temperature display at the moment reads the set temperature (5deg) not the actual temperature. The actual temperature is around 14deg and it is not cooling. Occasionally, by messing with controls and turning off/on I can get the fridge to cool and read correct temp, but when it reaches the set point it warms up and displays the set point and not actual temp. I’m thinking possibly fridge temp sensor but have a feeling it’s more complicated! Any help greatly appreciated.August 15, 2022 at 8:20 am #483230emmasfridgeiswarm
ParticipantHi,
Can’t offer you any help but just wanted to say I have the exact same problem.
Liebherr CNef 3915 Fridge Freezer – 2.5 years old.
Last heat wave (few weeks ago) the fridge said it was 5 degrees but was at room temperate. After a few days of warm fridge, I tried defrosting the (frost-free!) freezer (including behind back wall as engineer showed me how to do this last time it over-frosted), by the time engineer came out the fridge was cold again (but also heat wave was over so I wasn’t sure which has fixed it).
This heat wave same issue (warm fridge) but slightly different. Fridge is warm again (has been for the past 3 days) but now the fridge tells me its warm (18 degrees this morning!).
So I don’t think its temperature sensor issue because this time it is reporting the high fridge temperatures.
I purchased Liebherr based on wanting a reliable fridge! Don’t know if I’ve just been unlucky but really disappointed the fridge was £850 and only lasted 2.5 years. I’ve read numerous reviews on Miele (I understand may be made in same factory) and Liebherr struggling in warm temperatures. Interesting to know if many others have found this or just an unlucky few?
I don’t want to keep going through this every time we get warm weather – think I’m just going to cut my losses and will have to buy another fridge (probably not a Liebherr after this experience).

I have a Miele fridge freezer and have the inside back wall of the fridge section gets very frosty and icy with thickness and have had miele out quite a few times and they keep saying it’s normal.
it’s still under warranty and they have replaced the temperature sensors and compressor electronic.
I was extremely disappointed when found out miele dont make fridge freezer because paid so much and had done lots of research on this before buying it. Ayways wonder if you also have these issues? -
