seem to have been going since 2007 .. directors seem to only have this company which is good as you often find a list of similar companies to each director and lists of retired directors in the company history. so its possible thay are stable

If you want to do some work for them. up your rates a bit and insist on up front payments

Am getting tired of chasing these companies for money so I up the rate cand wont go till they pay first

    cheers Dave

yes we always now ask for at least 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} upfront and insist on payment within 48 hours

to be fair to them they did say the payment was 48 hours after we invoice

will poss do a couple of jobs and test the water with them

I have also just had an email from these people out of the blue which I have put the relaevant part of below (this doesn’t contain any job request):

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR CALL OUT

    PURPOSE
As a part of our Warranty Plan, this call out is complimentary/FREE where customer need not pay for the engineer visit. It is just the initial check to confirm if the appliance is working fine or not.
    CALL OUT PROCEDURE
Following steps are required while performing call out:
Step 1. Will send you the job with customer details and Customer Form
Step 2. Once you accept the job, we would need an invoice (required upfront to log the job in our system) in our company’s name with our address and other details as mentioned below along with the customer details
    Company name:- Domestic Repairs
    Address:- Domestic Repairs
    124 City Road
    London
    EC1V 2NX
    Contact no:-02038934843
    Email:- service@warranty-assist.co.uk

Step 3. Call the customer to book an appointment for a visit to check if the machine is working fine or not and remind them that it is a FREE routine check up and does not require any payment & it comes free with their warranty plan.
Step 4. After job completion, take some pictures of the washing machine and signature of the customer on the form provided.
Step 5. Email us the below at service@warranty-assist.co.uk
    1. Pictures of the Washing Machine
    2. Invoice for the customer
    3. Signed Customer Form(DR Form)
Step 6. After we receive all the details, payment would be made within 48 to 72 hours.

Feel free to email me for any further questions if you have and I would be happy to answer that.

We are also updating our database, so can you please confirm which postcodes do you cover.

    Can you please revert asap.

There are a couple of rather loud alarm bells ringing for me:

    • The office listed in the email is a virtual one that is listed here https://www.yourvirtualofficelondon.co.uk/ which means that they are not actually working at the address listed.
    • A google search of the address brings up https://www.repairaid.co.uk at exactley the same address.
    • The website that Ally found is far too simple with all of the facebook, twitter, linkedin and Youtube links going to their contact page and not out to the social media platforms.
    • Google searching for Warranty Assist only brings a car warrenty scheme which only has good reviews from traders and bad from customers.
    • The quality of english in the email is not great and suggests that they may be based abroad.
    • Googling the phone number on the http://old.directionshaircolour.co.uk/index.php brings up another site http://www.domesticrepairs.net/index.php
    • There is no companies house number listed on the site.

I think that I will steer clear but thought that the info might help others.

yes i have done the same search etc, got the same emails – if they are genuine they are going about it the wrong way

out of 11 customers, we contacted 3 of them mentioned the service was a scam and have got their money back ??
most of the customers we called seemed elderly and a little confused about our visit

NEEDLESS TO SAY, WE DID NOT CONTINUE WITH ANY CALLS

all to fishy for me TBH

    got the same email yesterday

told them i was not interested as it was too much hassle taking all the pics and uploading them etc

been here before if you dont take a pic you wont get paid so had to arrange to go back and take the pic on one job for another provider. Far too much unproductive work

I once got contacted by a company apparently based in London and as agreed went out to repair the oven which was reported as no heat which as engineers we all love those words I’m sure you will agree

The appliance was an old an Neff oven, and after chatting to the elderly lady there she told me they initially wanted to charge a fixed repair fee of £375 but after she kept disagreeing with them they dropped to £175.

After hearing this I made sure my invoice charged them £176 so at least they made a loss the cheeky bu££ers. They did question my charges but I itemised it and stuck to my guns and got paid. Blocked their number after payment received

So what i am getting at is there are too many companies out to rip customers off and make the industry look bad.

Please don’t judge me for my pricing I was just trying to make a point with them.

    Graham
