Beko F/F not getting cold

Hi,
I have a Beko American fridge freezer GNEV321APX which stopped getting cold recently. The red exclamation mark symbol was lit on the display and freezer items had started to defrost. The fridge was also warmer that it should’ve been.

I emptied both sections and left it switched off for a few hours and then switched it on. The red symbol did not come back on but neither side got as cold as it should. I left a shallow tray of water overnight in the fast freezer section and in the morning there was a thin 2 or 3mm layer of ice on top. The tray of water in the main part of the freezer was still water.
When switched on the motor running sounds quiet like it usually does.
Is it dead?!
