After months of feeling ill and hospital visits 4 breathing probs, I think 99pc I’m sure I’ve been well and truly set up by a now vanished abusive ex. Few weeks back firemen came out as I struggled for breath from fumes from fridge, awful smell, by time they came there was nothing I felt an idiot. They didn’t find no wrong. Had 3 lots out 4 same prob and same as, nothing when they got here. Every night it get so hot in my home and I can’t breath, I get ringing in my ears as well. Today I put grill part of oven on as large oven not working it’s blown, there was nothing no sound no heat nothing then I heard a clicking then it came in and I felt like I was standing in an infurno intense heat and smell came out ii switched it off and pulled oven out the metal at back was bubbled I feel like I’m lucky today to find that, fridge temperature has gone erratic, I’ve been told this is most prob my abusive ex who’s vanished and left me with a bill for new fridge and cooker. And all done by a Smart App that anyone can download and use apparently and all in my name I think, I’ve been recieving strange codes, so if anyone knows how I can get this stopped, as it’s all my white goods being ruined , don’t have a clue how. But also to warn others on how easy it is to do this, without you knowing, clearly intent was to seriously harm me, and could have been many others in my apartment block. Something needs to be done about these types of apps it’s so dangerous.

You would have to contact the maker of the appliances to have them disable remote access.

    And, don’t buy connected appliances.

It looks like the app you are going to use was so unsafe. If smart apps are being used maliciously, those potential risks of connected devices are even bigger. As others suggested, try disconnecting your appliances from your home network and disabling remote access. It could be a good start. Checking your router settings for unauthorized devices and updating passwords is also essential. I am a dev and work on electronic health records systems for medical institutions, and I recommend to explore this case study. You might find something interesting for you. Not all the smart apps are that “smart. It’s just a reminder of how critical it is to secure smart technology. I hope you can get this resolved and regain peace of mind. Stay safe.

Edit: I really appreciate you for taking the time to write it in brief.

as a thought on the above problem. I know its from 2022 but

the answer is to disconnect the applance from your home network

all things connected to your nework have an address called a mac number. you can access you house routers menu,s and ban this mac no which will stop this problem all together

there will be utube videos on how to do this somewhere most likely

on a virgin router you just put http://192.168.0.1/ in the address bar then put in the password from the router ( on the router base)

other routers are the same or similar
