Hi,
I have recently purchased a refurbished Hotpoint 8552 Fridge Freezer from http://www.renewnortheast.com/.
I picked it up in a transit van which wasn’t tall enough to transport it fully upright so it was transported at about 30deg.
It was left standing upright for at least 5 days before switching on.
Unfortunately when switched on the pumps fired into life briefly before cutting out and then spluttering and finally making a popping noise and emitting electrical burning smell.
Having removed the terminal covers for the motors, one of them (not sure which i’m afraid, the one on the right looking from the back) had the charred remains of the terminal assembly.
Is this likely to be difficult to repair?
And also is possible it was caused by the transportation, as there should be a 6 month warranty with it, but i have a feeling they might be a bit funny as i transported it myself.
Any comments feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
