Hi there, we keep getting this problem on the display screen, we ordered a new PCB still getting the same error, we ordered a new PCB board as existing had burn marks on it. Since ordering parts i found a service manual online and the errors are pointing to replace the pump. We put it in service mode and operated the pump on its own and it works, i even plugged it in the mains with a power cable to test it with water and it works, any ideas why we are getting “Empty Water” warning still? Is there a way of resetting this machine cant find anything in the service manual, there are no error codes on the display. Thanks in advance for any help or advice given.

Usually if the empty light is on it’s down to the float switch being activated near the pump (will be in the resovoir) Check that area is clear from blockages as well as the condenser unit itself.

I don’t think it has a float it has two metal prongs as a sensor see attached link, there are no blockages tested the pump on a bench and it pumps out ok, I presume when the water level meets the metal prongs it makes the circuit to switch it on but if it does have a float where is it? Thanks for your help. https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/5859el2001a-lg-tumble-dryer-drain-pump

Just looked on diagram and yes looks like no float switch on this model. Make sure the condenser you can pull out the front is clear (you should be able to see through from front to back)

This model also had a humidity sensor near the door opening I think, check that for damage and that its all attached internally.

Inside the door was a stainless steel pin cleaned that and cleaned the condenser, the machine runs for 5-10 minutes then it turns off saying empty water, tried it on different settings like cottons, mixed fabric and other settings and it does the same thing.

The humidity sensor looks something like this – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNpQRPJfTGA

Might even be worth checking the thermostats on the heater unit (unplug power first obviously) Appliances are sometimes wierd with faults and error codes where the issuues isn;t what the machine tells you.

Been running the machine now for over 10 minutes now without the condenser cover on and the dryer has not turned off its still running, why could that be?

Without that the humid air isnt going to the condenser, so likely fault is the condenser is blocked (see attached image) or less likely its the humidity sensor.

Is that the small pin sensor under the door. The condenser not blocked can see all the way through cleaned it yesterday. without the condenser cover on it dried the washing and switched off

The pin type part is probably a thermistor, the humidity sensor is usually 2 metal looking strips near the door opening.

Had a look in the service manual and can’t see anything regarding those numbers, the attached image is what is says regarding it saying empty water.

As parts are scarce I have ordered a new pump and the thermistor with the short cable inside the door they will be here in a few days as for the two plates I looked at them the other day they look fine

Hi there wonder if anyone can help again, we have the water needs emptying error again, its been working fine, i installed a new control PCB, new pump, new i presume temperature sensor inside the door filter the one with the blue wire. I put the drain hose in to a jug at the side of the machine it spat out some water so presume the pump is ok any ideas what it could be?

I also pressure washed the condenser clean looked through it can see day light through each row.
