ParticipantHello all,
I’m having a go at repairing the above dishwasher (must be around 20 years old). Not completing cycle so I assumed heater element, but the element is ok (checked 28 ohm resistance and connectors ok). moved on to what I think is a thermal device (also enters main chamber from underneath) that is connected to heating element. This has next-to-no resistance rather tyhan infinite resistance but can I assume this is OK? If not, I have read that control relay is next step but don’t know where this can be found. Can’t find an obvious circuit board.
Thank you.November 12, 2022 at 9:22 pm #484385electrofix

ParticipantThanks. I have to physically move the dial on a bit for the programme to finish. Sounds ok (pump etc). Drains ok. Can’t see a pcb behind control panel…photo too large to post but basically just on/off switch, and timer assembly behind control dial.

ModeratorThe PCB should be in the control panel on the left behind the indicator lights. All faults should generate an error code.

ModeratorThe control module called the 100 bit control by Indesit was a very common cause of heater failure on these machines.

ParticipantThe front panel for a DV62 I’ve found suggests it doesn’t have any lights other than a power indicator – https://www.indesitspares.co.uk/dishwasher/dv-62-wh-f024392/control-panel-fascia-white/product.pl?pid=954467&path=601897&refine=facia&model_ref=11465378

Moderator🙁 Just double checked, those fault codes are for DV620.

ParticipantThanks again all. The front panel as per the link that tubafan posted is exactly right. It is an old model. Now I’m really confused. I’ve removed and replaced the element – checked for breaks etc and checked resistance again – 28.3 ohms. Seems fine. I then ran a cycle with the mains plugged into a basic energenie monitor. Using a no-contact voltage detector I confirmed that the element has power switched to it twice in the cycle – during the wash and again when rinsing…BUT I have to move the dial on manually, AND no power is drawn – machine only ever draws approx. 0.6 amps – no sign of the element drawing enough power to heat up! Any ideas folks?
