LG Dishwasher : access to drain pump

Hello,
the drain pump in my dishwasher is almost dead – pumps badly or not at all, and sounds like its in pain. My problem is accessing the pump.

I’ve followed the general guidelines – bottom cover off, door exterier off, soundproofing removed, and then the screws in the metal plated removed. I expected to just lift off this plate and have access. It’s going to be tight, but i’ve got small hands. But the metal plate won’t come out – its blocked by the base moulding. I’ve checked for extra clips, screws, or other fastening devices, but none to be seen. I managed to find an exploded view of the machine on the internet and it appears that the metal plate rises up more at one end (into where, i don’t know).

I wouldn’t consider myself a DIY expert, but had thought this would be done and dusted in an hour. And i can’t be the first person that’s come up against this problem on this model. If anyone out there has any ideas, please let me know,
