    Hello! 🙂

Are there substitute mains suppressors for 1970s Hoover Juniors?

Would it be possible for someone to replicate the original suppressor? I know someone who can source capacitors and resistors, etc., for audio electronics, as well as making small circuit boards.

I don’t have my cleaner to hand, but I will post its model and serial numbers when I do shortly.

I know original parts are scarce due to age. My cleaner works, but I would like to get my local repairer to replace the suppressor as soon as possible as a preventative measure. Witnessing one go bang is not something I relish!

    Many thanks.

The main reason for a mains suppressor is to stop unwanted interference generated by the machine interfering with other items ie radios, TV’s etc. By all means replace it if you want as it’s about 40-50 years old. But for me this sits in the category if it aint broke don’t fix it.
