Hi Steve
I used to work on these machines for Zanussi do the clothes come out hot and steamy
This used to be a common fault the condensing spray plate which we used to call a fish tail (because of the shape of it) blocks up with lime scale and the water spray directly on to the clothes you either (remove the drum from the tub and clean it) donβt want to that! Or we used to run descaler down the hose from the inlet valve end via a spray kill container which worked wonders, The spray kill container was part of our van stock or you tell the customer that the parts are obsoleteJohn

Steve,
Yes of course the dryer stat needs a look at but usually its the lack of water flow into the drum that causes the problem π
The hose fits onto a brass nipple on the drum and this could be blocked with limescale or water not flowing via the valve π‘ Therefore the complaint usually is that the clothes get really hot and steamy!

Thanks chaps
I was just a bit mythed when I peered through top plate and saw no usual set up with fan etc, and then look at on TDS and find no fanblower etc just a heater dangling in mid air! No different to standard fault finding on normal washer dryers then  I was just a bit loathed to pull it as it looks a cow of a job. You know how it is rented property landord not quite sure of fault description etc.
Thanks for info

Rented property, landlord!…..oh dear!….best make your excuses and leave one at this point then as it’s not an easy ‘fix it cheap’ job π

Or you may be lucky and find the condenser valve is o/c π
Won’t cause overheat of course but knowing tenant’s/landlord’s descriptions of faults and what is really wrong can be quite different.

When we used to get one of these models with the dryer conveyor blocked up we would try anything to avoid taking the tub out. 2 most successful methods:
1: pour in descaler
2: swap the hoses around on the double valve making sure theyre well fastened then select a wash program, the sudden blast of mains water pressure through the converyor was sometimes enough to clear it. -
