    Good afternoon,

I’m really hoping someone can help us out. We have a Liebherr SGNes 2500 Index 20A/001 side by side fridge/freezer.

I’m not sure how old it is as it came with the house. It’s a great fridge/freezer except that the freezer side is somewhat temperamental in terms of the temperature that it will keep – it’s very erratic. If the door is being opened daily, sometimes less, the temperature won’t go below -13 and the alarm keeps sounding. It has been as high as -9 which is obviously unhealthy for the food within alas.

I’ve tried SuperFrost in the past and that has worked, but that seems to be failing as well now.

I live in rural France and have called a local engineer, but without looking at the unit, he has told me that the unit is beyond repair alas. Unfortunately we aren’t spoilt with masses of engineers in this area so we are at a loss. I’m hoping that’s not the case so any help or advice, maybe something I can clean or perhaps something I can do myself would be hugely appreciated as the unit to my untrained eye just perhaps needs a little tlc.

Many thanks in advance and all the very best for the New Year

The unit was manufactured in 2006, The issue could be a number of things like fan not operating due to excess ice or the sensor is malfunctioning, or possibly but not normal a gas issue or the compressor not pumping correctly, there are ways to see what the sensors are reading and to test individual parts like the fan to check what is going on remotely.
    Call me on 07771545191.
    Tony.
