Hi. I need some help troubleshooting with my Beko bcfd173 fridge freezer I noticed the fridge compartment is not cooling but the freezer is still freezing my food. What could be the main cause of this I have checked if there is any build up of ice but there is nothing. When I turn off the fridge and turn it back on I here a clicking sound coming from the control board on the top of the fridge I can’t hear any humming sound coming from the compressor, so I don’t know if the compressor relay is faulty or if the control board is faulty. Can anyone help??

Your model is a built in frost free appliance, looking at the parts there is a fan in the freezer, if the freezer door is left open warm air is sucked in and turns to ice around the fan, a full defrost can sometimes cure this, empty the appliance, unplug or switch appliance off and leave doors open for two days. Wipe out and switch back on keeping firngers crossed. If this doesn’t work then it’s probably time to call for an engineer.

I will give that a try. But I also noticed the fridge door seal is in bad condition and I may also be the cause?

Could well be. If the seal is flattened you could try a hairdryer on warm heat and tease it out. Price of fridge door is over £100 and the seal if it is a DIY possible is about the £50 mark.

If you decide to replace the appliance you have a 70:30 split integrated fridge freezer with sliding hinge system.

When you say the freezer is still freezing, what temperature is it at as, that’s important.

There’s freezing and then there’s actually hitting the target temperature and those are not the same things. If it doesn’t get down to -18˚C average you have a refrigerant system issue.

I would say it is freezing but it is not as efficient as it use to be specially since the fridge compartment has stop cooling. It’s why i was trying to find out if it could be a compressor relay issue or the controlboard as Issue I can hear 2 ticking noise coming from the board when I restart the fridge..

In most, the freezer gets the refrigerant first, then the fridge so if something goes wrong in that refrigerant system the freezer may “freeze” but not get down to temp whilst the fridge will hardly cool at all. And if that is the case, none of the solutions you are looking at are the cause of the issue and, replacing any of those parts won’t solve it.
