    Hi All

Not a repair query but just a warning , had the absolute displeasure of being given one of these baumatic id1510 as a replacement for a broken dishwasher under appliance warranty was barely used by mum and then taken to storage as kitchen was redone not long after, fast forward 6 months later fitted to a property and all seemed fine but low and behold 2 days later the water fill solenoid stuck on and it near enough flooded the kitchen.

Never again will i accept such junk , in anger in the skip it went as i didnt want to even risk a repair so i just wanted to warn folk that with any water device they really need to think twice as its really not worth the risk with cheaper devices. I would be happy to hear whether iv been extremely unlucky or whether as per google seems this brand in particular is just shite.

    Cheers

think you have been unlucky. which ever dishwasher you buy might well have the same valve or at least from the same manufacturer

if the valve stuck then even turning off the plug wont stop it but if you did switch off and it stopped then it would be a unit fault

some units have a special hose that will only allow so much water till a special valve stop the water going in

I wish i was as lucky dave , just boggles the mind why all units are not fitted with some sort of safety feature , time the water was isolated , floor is pretty much ruined 🙁

As i said i normally wouldn’t have even bothered to reuse this machine but it was brand new and has now ended up in the skip after barely more than 10 washes if that !

Never again will i trust a cheap brand , it was filling even when off so deffo valve im told as i said i had no confidence in the unit after the fault so didn’t want to risk something else going wrong especially with wood flooring. Lesson learned about positioning of isolation valves too. Hope my story helps folk in some way.
