ParticipantFollowing on from yesterdays post, used same programme & pressed the intensive button.
Cutlery still dirty (top drawer). Glass items & cups have got dried on food deposits (feels gritty).
The door interior is caked in mash potato residue, can’t upload pic. Never had this before….
any ideas why it’s not cleaning properly.
Filter checked & all clean
spray arms all fine, no blocked holes.many thanks

ParticipantThere’s cloudy water in the sump – 1” deep. Is this normal?’

ParticipantCutlery in the top tray dirty.
Gritty residue on other items.Inside door caked in mash potato reside (last nights dinner). It’s as if the final rinse is swirling dirty water around?
*Filters checked, all clean
*spray arms not blocked, checked the holes,
all flowing freely*rinse aid & salt levels OK
Anything else I can check?
Many thanks

ParticipantSounds like it only got part way through the program. What happens if you try running it again?

ParticipantTwo things to consider. 1) the grey tube which goes from the sump right to the top of the tank where the top “plastic thingy is” ( spinning jet ) that tube might be blocked up towards the top hence no water to spray on cultery. The only way to be sure is to remove it from the machine and blow through it using your fingers to block the middle basket water jet hub or, 2) more likely so,heaven help you, the alternating water distrubutor has failed and so it is spraying water soley to the bottom wash blade and not to the middle basket and so also to the spinning jet that does the cultery bsk at the very top. From what you say it looks more likely to be point 2. and that is depressing because that is a major dismantle of the machine and I would advise you not to try it yourself because these Bosch machines are a bastard to work on for engineers never mind the public – the whole series was designed over 10 cans of special brew!!. The way to tell is get a permanent marker pen and mark with a dot one end of the cups and small plate middle basket and leave that w/.blade pointing towards you i.e. the door, you then start up the machine without anything in the machine and let the machine run foir 10 minutes and listen to the machine: it should make a washing noise from the bottom bsk wash blade, the wash noise subsides in pitch as it switches to wash the middle and also send water up to the cutlery one too then the distrubutor disc relvolves back to send water to the bottom wash arm. If it is goosed the water is only going to the bottom wash blade so that marked middle wash blade will not have moved hence the indicating marked dot! If the dotted wash blade has barely moved and you heard no changeable wash noise I would say there is something wrong with the distrubutor motor / revloving disc or less likely a pcb problem.
Go to bosch spares uk site yourself. The tube part number is 11003118 £20.48. The water distrubutor unit is part 00644996 £53.50March 10, 2023 at 10:02 am #486053thrombel
ParticipantThank you for the detailed reply.
I went straight to option 2 because it’s a quick & easy method!
I ran the machine for 10 mins, it made the usual swishing noises, then goes quiet for a few seconds & then starts back up again. This is normal for my machine.
Low & behold the middle basket blade I marked with a permanent dot didn’t move! I double checked – ran the machine for another few mins, blade not moved at all.
I will book an engineer.
Once again thank you for your help, much appreciated.

ParticipantWell it sounds like the distrubutor is working!! So you might want to check the first suggestion as the blockage could be nearer the sump in the tube part. I presume you have had the middle basket wash blade off – where the screw hold that wash blade on to the horizontal conveyo rand the basket out. Note that basket where it pushes into the tube hub should lock the basket in so the water shoots to the wash blade rather than the force of the water pushing the basket slightly forward if the hub is worn and not gripping properly..

Participant*UPDATE*
andyjawa was spot on! Had repair man out, he sat & listened to the machine, identified the water wasn’t going up to the middle basket or top cutlery drawer. Said a new part needed, something to do with a motor, I think.
Pulled the machine out & discovered a loose connection/wire in the sump area. The component that tells the machine to take water up to the middle basket & cutlery drawer. He reconnected it & made good. Said he’s never come across this before.
So just a call out fee incurred.
Its 10 yrs old &n has done well so far. On at least once a day.
Repairs so far:
1st repair – Door spring broke (under manufacture guarantee)2nd repair – think it was something to do with the pump/sump area.
3rd repair – loose wire/connection
