    Hi All,

    We have a John Lewis 1614WD, unsure how makes it or what model its based on.
    PNC; 914600609-03.

    It stops drying the clothes and stores the code E72. My issue is where is this sensor in my machine for me to test it and replace if faulty.

    Advice on what this washer dryer is based on (Who make it and model) and the location of the problematic NTC would be really helpful.

    unit is built by electrolux and is based on the AEG unit

    chances are its the dryer front ntc but i would also check carefully to see if the cable is broken as thats not an uncommon fault

    Hi Dave,

    with that sensor does the reading start at about 20c @6k ohm then decrease as it gets warmer? That’s what I have read- but…….all the ntc’s that were being measured were the smaller style with a plastic plug in the back- rather than 2 blades and push on spades arrowed.
    just confirming that what you pointed is the one that normally causes e72. Do you know if there is a specific part number for that- so I am ready to order of required.

    but dont overlook it could also be a broken cable, had a few of them broken to this NTC

    also bear in mind this is likely to be the fault but i can promise

    Thank you Dave,

    I’ll give it a check over Friday/Saturday. The specs (measured ohms) seem about correct for what I’m looking for- 6k @20c and decreasing with temp?

    I’ll measure and inspect this weekend.

    Hi Dave/all

    I’ve opened the top again, raised the terminals slightly (plugs) and measured around 5.5k, the loom seems to be made up of a short section- round the top on the left- disconnected the plug and measured the same- where does the wire normally fail? It runs into the main loom across the top rear, down the side behind a big Cap then into the pcb.

    it fails on the clips where it crosses from the loom to the moving drum unit. its where it bends when the drum bounces

    So, I manage to trace the 2 wires from the plug at the top of the dryer to the pcb- what a pain getting to it and open- those plugs on the pcb need magic to get them off!
    I measured 6.3k at the pcb end of the loom (same as at the sensor).
    I then measured at the top plug- where it changes from the main loom to the sensor , shaking, wiggling the wires and was a solid 6.3k.
    This seems like it now points towards the pcb?

    The dryer heater element was getting power – 50ohm resistance disconnected.
    The fan was running too.

    When does the humidity probes function used?

    Everything I read was 3 things, ntc sensor, loom, pcb.
    struggling now.

    When you found the ntc probe part number, what machine model did you use? I’m interested to find the pcb cost for this model.
