I am about to replace the bearings and seal on our washing machine. I believe the seal needs some grease and having a number of different types of grease for working on vehicles, I’m hoping one of these would be suitable and don’t have to buy another.

The two that spring to mind are :
    1. Red Rubber Grease – suitable for use on brake callipers and synthetic/rubber seals etc.
    2. Silicone Grease – suitable for use on rubber components, resistant to hot and cold water etc.

Any advice on which grease is the ‘more’ suitable.

What make of machine and model is it? Some bearing kits come with the correct grease in a small container and some seals can come with a coating of grease already applied. Neither of the above mentioned is resistant to detergents.;)

I believe the kit I’ve got coming has got a coating of grease on it, it’s just in case it doesn’t and I need to use some
