I have a Beko KS530S with a solid-plate electric hob. All of the hotplates are operated by knobs numbered 1 to 6. Two of the hotplates have a booster function. One of these does not heat at all on settings 1 to 3, but does work on 4 to 6, though the heat up time is not much faster than the same size hotplate without the booster function.

Reading other posts on here and searching online I can’t find the exact same problem described, but suspect from what I have read that it is a fault with either the switch or the regulator. Any help in understanding this better would be very welcome.

can be either the switch or the ring

the ring has 2 elements. if one fails you will get this fault. Equally if the switch does not operate one of the elements it will give the same fault

Thanks Dave. Is there a way to find out which it is?

only by stripping it and using a multi meter to measure element resistances to see if its faulty

sometimes you can look at the switch and see burnt contacts
