Hi,

The tablet dispenser jammed a few times leaving me with a half dissolved tablet and badly washed dishes, so I attempted to check it for food waste or residue and accidentally popped the cover off.

    With it came a spring.

I now can’t work out how to reassemble the dispenser with the spring so it’s functional – it just doesn’t seem to fit anywhere?!

I’ve tried to attach a photo but the forum says the file size is 19.5kb so that won’t work.

The spring is bent at 90° with a loop at the bend, both arms have a small end piece that sticks out to fit into a socket (presumably).

No matter where I put those end pieces, the spring doesn’t push the door up and the button to open the door no longer works either.

The spring armature inside still has tension but feels like the tension is pulling it closed, so when the button is pressed in nothing happens.

    Help!

Or alternatively you could just drop the tablet in the bottom of dishwasher and not worry about it

    Thanks for the replies!

I think the holes are right but the coil cannot fit over that stopper with the green arrow, it doesn’t fit in any direction cos the arms of the spring are too long.

As it happens the bloody spring pinged off and has disappeared so I’ve ordered the whole unit to swap out after wasting four hours attempting to fabricate a spring to fit.

kaibart I thought the reason there was a delay before dropping the soap was that the machine rinses then drains first before adding fresh warm water to wash in, so the soap would potentially be flushed away? Maybe that was a load of cobblers

Lesson learned anyway, don’t mess if you aren’t 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure what you’re doing – and it only cost me £27.90 with postage

yes luckily its a cheap end unit made by Vestel so parts are reasonably priced

have had various makes come off over the years and it can take while to figure out where things go to get them together again

    as a PS

Be careful with Bush stuff. Argos own the brand name and often we struggle to get parts

scrapped a 2 year old range last week. badged Bush no spares available
