    Hi All,

I have a Smeg Double Oven DO81CSS-5 and which cuts out when I open the door.
The fan and heating elements still work fine and the oven gets up to temperature and operates normally but around 80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time that I open the oven door it trips the fuse.
After extensive digging online I cannot find a root cause, some say replace the heating element although this doesnt make sense to me because it is working and some others I have seen point to the door switch (which makes sense but I cannot find where this is on my particular oven). I have also read it could be a poor earth connection but I cannot find any diagrams online of how to take everything apart completely to be able to check this.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions or maybe someone has had this issue in the past.
    All information is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tom

Oven door switch? There is one in it so that’d be the prime suspect if you asked me.

can be a hard one this

As K says it could be the earth sw or it could be the element

    try something
find the element connections and swop them so the live and neutral to the element change sides

see if it trips at different times

Thanks Both, do you know where the door switch is? It doesn’t seem obvious like at the top so when the door closes it senses that it is shut, is it something thats hidden away where the hinges push back into?

The door switch is normally on the left hand side and the hinge activates it so left hand side panel needs to come off
