ParticipantThe machine is all working fine except the pump won’t turn off at the end of the wash and you have to manually move the timer to the end of program to get it to stop. As far as I can see there is nothing trapped in the sump at the bottom.

Moderatorthis is a hard one. initially when i read the way you described it it did sound like a mechanical timer fault but when i looked it up i found its an electronic timer so when you said “you have to manually move the timer to the end of program to get it to stop” what you actually mean is you turn the machine off
the is no obvious answer i can think of that could cause this in a dishwasher

ParticipantHi,
Thanks for reply. Yes sorry I meant turn the off from the start button – it’s at my parents house and I confused the controls with mine.
Do you know which sensors the machine would be looking at to turn off the machine at the end of the cycle? Is it just some sort of water level switch?

Moderatorwell could be
take out the filter inside
look in the sump well and there is a small float in a tube. you can touch it and move it. if its got gummed up it may be causing the problemDave

ParticipantHi,
I know it’s been a few months but I ended up swapping this dishwasher at my parents for mine but then it remained hidden from view in my garage!
I’ve had another go at it over the weekend and the float valve (grey dome-shaped device) at the bottom was all gummed up & not moving.
I couldn’t work out how to pop the grey dome off to give it a really good clean but did as much as possible so it’s now moving up & down freely. However, the pump still won’t turn off – it will still run even if the door is open until I apply a light amount of pressure on top of the grey dome.
Could anyone tell me how to get that dome off to clean it properly? Also, if I need to replace completely, how to I access it – sidepanels off or underneath?
Cheers

Participantjust to say the grey dome is on the floor of the machine and not in the sump well.

Moderatorthe machine has an anti flood system provided by a float in the base. have you checked this as it activates the pump

ParticipantI can check it but as the pump stops immediately when I apply light pressure to the little dome & restarts when I release it I wouldn’t have thought it could be the antiflood switch.
It felt like the dome isn’t dropping low enough to activate the microswitch that the dome links to. Hence the question about how to remove the dome to see if there’s still any any gunge preventing it going lower.

Moderatorand there is a float below the dome that detects water in the base
