    Please can someone help?!

    I have a 4-5 year old Ariston Margherita 2000, AWD 12, “Advantage” Washer Dryer. I’ve had quite a few problems with it in the last few years (now sorted) but it has just started leaving the “fabric conditioner” function out of each wash.

    I checked other forum posts and took advice about cleaning the compartment thoroughly, cleaning the water jet holes, basically everything but still no luck. I have also been doing the hottest cycle every now and again (on advice of my last engineer). Have also tried watering down the fabric conditioner.

    Every other function seems to be fine so not sure why this is happening. Machine is now starting to smell a bit stagnant.

    Any advice would be gratefully received.

    Have another go at cleaning the water jets, in particular the ones directly above the softener compartment, normally there are very few for the softener and they are easily clogged.

    Failing that, the water director on the dispenser may be at fault but that’s quire rare.

    What is the house water pressure like generally ?

    Thanks for that Dave – I will have another go at cleaning the jets above, although was quite thorough when I did it yesterday.

    Water pressure in the house (cold water) is quite strong. Hot water pressure fine but not as strong as cold (sorry for my ignorance, but don’t know if machine draws it from hot or cold).

    The machine has been in this house for nearly 3 years and not had this problem before. Having said that will defintely be buying Bosch the next time!

    Anyway, will try another clean and put another wash on and see what happens……….

    No need to try a whole wash cycle, the softener is only taken on the final rinse, select “rinse and spin” (if this model has that choice) 😉

    Hi Dave,

    I did have another go at cleaning the jet holes with a bit of thin wire – small black gunge particles came out. (Electricity turned off!)

    Just did a wash using the Quick – 30 minute wash (hardly ever use it) and ……. it worked. Hopefully it will be fine on other cycles and it was just a blockage.
