I am not a refrigeration engineer but if a customer has a problem with a door I will sometimes take a look.
I have a call to a 20 year old Bosch KIV32900GB/01 where the door doesn’t hold closed fully. This fridge uses the set of four smaller hinges rather than the two larger more common types.
I can’t see any obvious fault with the hinges but the seal doesn’t feel very magnetic. The door seal is clean, there’s nothing in the fridge restricting the closure and the door hasn’t dropped.
    Are these hinges sprung closed?
Is this more likely to be the hinges, door seal or should I consider replacing both?

I would say hinges are first place to start

I would check each hinge for damage and try taking them off , maybe one at a time, to see if one of them is jamming

    Thanks Dave,
Do you know if these are self-closing (sprung) or if this relies on the seal magnet?

well judging by the pics on aswo it does look like there may be a spring element to them

what i am guessing is it will probably be just one hinge causing the problem, find and remove and its a temp fix. hinges are showing £54 plus vat on aswo so not cheap

As this is a built in unit 1st thing I would be checking before you go changing parts is the install especially as its been there so long must have moved and need re fitting

I checked the position and it appears to be well-secured and the top and bottom fixing plates are aligned with the front of the unit.

It’s the older style direct mount. It will be the hinges, but replace them as a set.
