    [h=1]Hi.

    I have a Beko free standing larder fridge model LSG3545S. Recently the back of the fridge has started to freeze up resulting in a lot of our food freezing too. Has anyone experienced this before and know what the problem might be?

    I am unsure whether to have someone come out and look at it, which is a £75 call out fee, plus repairs. Or do I just buy a new fridge for £370?

    Many thanks![/h]

    It could be a thermostat issue but that’s the best case scenario.

    Thank you. How would I know if it was the thermostat? And are they easy to replace if I tried to do it myself?

    The simple rule of thumb is, if the unit is running constantly and over-freezing, then chances are the thermostat is the problem. The compressor will not stop running.

    Anything else going on and it’s probably not the thermostat and things get more complicated.

    You can of course start testing things electrically but again, things get more complicated.

    K.
