Afternoon all, I couldn’t find a “welcome” forum, so I guess I’ll say it here…..

New member and hopefully I’ll be able to help a few as I’ve got a small amount of DIY experience doing bits of repairs on my own stuff.

This one has me stumped though and not sure what’s going on.

I’ve got the above heat pump tumble dryer and for some reason the delay start timer is constantly playing up.

I have an electric car, and it made sense to go onto octopus go where I get 4 hours of cheap rate electricity during the night, so therefore it made sense to me to try and load shift other things into the same time slot. All my appliances (Washer, dishwasher and dryer) have a delay start feature which allows me to set a number of hours up until the cycle starts. This means I run them all at night at the same time as the car is charging. I just want to re-iterate this is a heat pump dryer, I don’t think I’d be comfortable running a normal style dryer on a delay start feature during the night for safety reasons, but heat pumps don’t get anywhere near as hot.

For some reason though my dryer just doesn’t like this feature at all. Sometimes it will start straight away even though I’ve just dialed in the number of hours I want it to delay for, other times it will show as counting down, only for me to go in a few hours later and it’s just turned it self off entirely and not done anything. Anyone else had this strange issue? All my other appliances work like clockwork and never have any issues with this feature, but this one just keeps playing up every now and again. It seems to come in waves too, sometimes it will work fine for months on end, and then all of a sudden I’ll start having issues for a week or two. Driving my insane as I can’t replicate the fault for repair people to do anything with it, and having two kids means I really need it to work without any bother as I usually have a full load at least every other day if not every day.

    Help please

its not a fault i have ever seen or heard of
I assume it works no problem unless you try to time it

Yes it works fine on the times I start it instantly, it’s just the delay start feature that plays up occasionally.

I did wonder at first when I noticed it if it was just registering the filters as being blocked when it started and then stopped and turned off before it finished the cycle, but both filters are clean ( I even went at far as giving it all a bit of a blow out with an air line as I have a small compressor).

Noticed recently though that I’ll set it and then a few hours later it’s just turned itself off miles before the timer is due to start anyway, as if you’ve turned it on and it’s turned itself off on the energy saving feature.
