For 2 days the sun comes out for a change, I get my kit off and frolick around the pool, fire up the barbeque and frizzle me furters. Get pissed as a fart on canned beer and dodgy red wine, stub my toe on a deckchair and fall headlong into the pool carrying a condiments tray onto the patio. Burn my manly features under the hot (92 degree) sun, get told off for not serving the drinks on demand and putting too much chilli in the marinade.

Get moaned at for not watering the bedding plants properly and opening the windows where the curtains knocked ornaments off the windowsill. Criticised for not recording her favourite TV programmes whilst I’m busy rewatering the plants and clearing up after the skinnydipping saturday night doodah.

Up to the recycling bins first thing Sunday morning shifting all the empty wine bottles, clean her car before the sun gets up. Prepair for another ‘Fathers Day’ invasion of the siblings, cut the lawn. Act as carpark attendent to ensure nextdoors driveway isn’t blocked with vehicles. Scrape the debris and clag off the barbecue ready for the next ‘stint’, realise the gas bottle getting too low and go to local garage for a spare.

More folks turn up early, more drinks to serve (“LEAVE THAT POOL COVER ALONE – I WILL DO IT!”)………an so on all weekend!
