I’ve got an 18-year-old Miele W3364. It’s barely missed a beat in that time – sump hose was stabbed by a cocktail stick and I fitted a new pair of Miele shock absorbers to it yesterday after a happy find on eBay (the old ones were empty and definitely decorative rather than functional…)
Putting the machine back together last night I was wondering whether I should have taken the opportunity to do something with the brushes. Every other month or so I get a wash end with ‘- – -‘ in the display and the Rinses LED flashing rapidly, but otherwise it’s pretty reliable. So, should I…
- leave the brushes alone until something more dramatic happens?
- accept that, after 18 years, they might be getting a bit thin and get a set on order to have on hand?
- order a set and fit them while dismantling memories are still fresh?
It’s been a good machine, so happy to do reasonable things to it which will keep those 1600rpm spins going a bit longer.
Thanks.
