Whirlpool short circuit

I have been to a whirlpool s20c cbb31 a side by side f/freezer today .the defrost heater had gone down to earth so tripped the whole house,I’ve disconnected the heater now when the machine is turned on the door display comes on and the internal lights but no fans or compressor is this because I’ve taken the heater out of the circuit ,or did the short damage the control module on the back of the machine,there isn’t any visible damage to the board.Any help would be grateful.
