    Good evening all,

I have inherited a fault with the above washer/dryer.

Essentially, there is a fault on the drying section.

The customer has reported a fault when selecting one or two of her usual programmes.

For instance, on a synthetic cycle, the machine can be adjusted to a dry only setting, following the selection of a wash cycle, wash, wash & dry or dry only can be selected. (no separate drying programmes are available on the main selector rotary switch.)

I visited late afternoon today, and added a couple of damp towels to monitor the above operation.

The programme starts off at 1 hour 37 mins, prior to fairly quickly dropping down to 47 minutes remaining.

Ten to fifteen minutes later, the remaining time displays 11 minutes, and counts down to o after 10/11 minutes.

However, the machine then remains on, tumbles every 30 seconds or so, and the door lock light, and the door remains on, along with a locked door. (indefinitely?)

I decided after several minutes of observing the above at o minutes remaining, before switching the machine off, and back on… whereby the door opened immediately…

Having monitored the drying cycle, I confirmed that the heater was producing good heat.

However, upon opening the door at the “end of the cycle,” the towels remained more than damp…

I didn’t have more time to carry out further tests today, and wonder if I should suspect a board fault, or focusing on other possibilities…

have you put it in service mode and looked for fault codes. some are not shown to user

    Thanks Dave,

I’ll return and carry out the above, as no error codes shown.

    Thanks again Dave,

I managed to access the Diagnostic Mode on the above washer/dryer this afternoon.

Of specific interest for this problem is “Stage C10 Drying Test” which verifies the drying loads of the machine.

During this stage, the display (UI) displays the upper and lower NTC temperature values which were a pretty steady 56 & 26 degrees c.

Nothing else materialised until exiting the diagnostic mode, whereby error E22 was displayed!

This relates to “drying water drain timeout,” and may mean a defective drain pump, blocked drain pipe/filter or blocked drying condenser. (which is not applicable)

I confirmed that the pump filter is fine, and there are no drain hose blockages, along with water draining perfectly when pumping when tested last week, and during the above tests.

I didn’t have time to do any further tests, such as electrically testing the drain pump, and remain perplexed at this obscure fault…
