ParticipantHI guys,
I have a 5.5y old built-in dishwasher from Exquisit.
At first I noticed noise coming from a motor, as the dishwasher was still doing its job properly I wasn’t to concerned. That was about a month ago.
Two days ago the machine has stopped with washing. When I open the door I see there is water, only its sitting there motionless. I can still hear the motor making humming noise.
Yesterday I decided to have a look. I took it out, removed all covers and found the circulating motor making this noise. I removed it, had it connected to 230VAC, the motor works, it makes some noise though (could be a bearing) but spins effortlessly with no resistance. Next was the pump, I suspected it to be clogged up (after watching few videos on YT) but it was very clean. I put is all together. Next I took out the flow devider out, but since I had no clue what it does I put it back in. I assembled it all together, started the machine and voila! It works, the machine was washing again, you could hear the water inside, loads of spraying pressure. And the motor noise was gone, super silent. No clue what I did.
This moring I decided to go for a full cycle. Machine started washing, and about 3 minutes in the washing it stopped spraying, motor is making humming noise again.
However this time I checked the motor and it is spinning. I can feel the motor axle rotating.
Inside there is nothing, no motion, water is again still.
To me it sounds like some valve has closed down the circuit and since the water has nowhere to go the motor/pump is working overtime.
Could I be right about this valve?
I did take this flow devider out for a moment, could that be it?Thanks guys, any help appreciated. I’ve been fighting with it all day yesterday and was really happy I’ve fixed it, ☹

Dave, the impellor has indeed left the shaft and was sitting lose in the pump housing.
